This beautiful art quilt was created by Cindy DeMore, a member of Quilters Above the Clouds in Woodland Park. The design is by Linda Hibbert of Silver Linings Originals who is from Colorado and well known for her detailed paper-pieced patterns depicting all kinds of animal life. The designs are detailed, and the thread painting was used to emphasize the patterns in the background fabrics so that the animals became almost three dimensional. Woodland Winter was awarded Best In Show for the 2024 Quilts in the Aspens Quilt Show. The art quilt measures 36” x 36”.

Michael Gault is a professional award-winning artist, who has resided in Colorado for almost 30 years. His primary art process of choice is oil painting, and his traditional training came with a passion for all things landscape. Currently a resident of Woodland Park, Michael’s work is often displayed at Reserve Our Gallery. During the 2024 Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters event, Gault’s work won Best of Show. Lost Creek is a framed Oil on Panel and measures 18” x 18”.

Starting as specks of dust so minute that they can’t be identified in a microscope, snowflakes (snow crystals) evolve into an astonishing creation. The complexity of photographing snowflakes starts with having ideal weather conditions: Bone chilling cold, high humidity, no wind and light snowfall. Using his background in physics, and knowing a little about machining, Don fabricated a lens to take the photo. The background is a worn wool scarf, the lens is fractions of an inch away from the flake and it was -20 degrees F. Look for additional pieces of Don’s work at the Tour Home of Annie and Rick Byrd. Crown Jewel measures 12” x 12”.
